Okay, so you’ve heard about the presentation of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ (FCA) 2014-2018 business plan at the group’s headquarters in Auburn Hills, but did you know that the Italian-American carmaker gave journalists a new tablet to keep for attending the conference?
Neither did we, but Automotive News’ reporter Nick Bunkley tweeted about it adding the cheeky hashtag ” #ethicsschmethics“.
He also took a picture of the tablet itself and the enclosed letter in which Chrysler says the device includes the presentation and that, “The tablet is our gift to you. In addition, all guests are provided with a tablet cover, notebook pen, flash drive, power cord and portable power”.
For those with ethical concerns about accepting a gift from a company, Chrysler gave the option of leaving the device in the meeting room so it can be donated to the “United Way for Southeastern Michigan to support technology upgrades and academic enhancements at Detroit Public Schools”.
