There’s something strange about the Lamborghini Huracan. Now that first drive reviews shot at the official launch event have popped up, you would think it would not be hard to form a balanced preliminary impression based on the information they provide, but it is…
Even EVO’s Jethro Bovingdon, who usually nails his conclusions and makes them clear for the viewer is left slightly flustered by the Huracan, a car that’s clearly better than the Gallardo… It seems to be the only thing those who’ve driven it can piece together in their mind afterward. That and the fact that it is more usable every day – a bit of information probably taken straight out of the press blurb.
What’s the car like?
Well, it’s slower than its main rivals, it’s less dramatic to look at, but it has all-wheel drive and a more powerful version of the V10 engine from the Gallardo. It also understeers on turn in, has a rubbish variable steering rack (an option box you shouldn’t tick) and while it may be pretty and well proportioned, it looks a bit dull – why no Veneno inspiration, Lambo?
