When the all-new ATS Coupe reaches Cadillac showrooms across the States at the end of summer, it will start from $38,990, including a $995 destination charge (*), for the base version fitted with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four that makes 272hp and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque.
There’s also a 3.6-liter V6 producing 321hp and 373 Nm (275 lb-ft) of peak torque, but GM did not release pricing today. The two engines come with a standard six-speed automatic gearbox, but the 2.0 Turbo can be had with a six-speed manual as well. Buyers will also have a choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
The ATS Coupe 2.0 Turbo costs $2,045 more than the equivalent version of the ATS sedan ($36,945 with destination), not taking into account a $1,500 Cash Back offer that’s currently available for the 2014MY.
In regards to the competition, the new ATS Coupe’s starting price undercuts all of its German rivals, including the Audi A5 Coupe that has a 220hp 2.0-liter turbo ($39,000 excluding destination), the BMW 428i Coupe with a 240hp 2.0L turbo ($41,425 with destination), and Mercedes’ C250 Coupe that gets a 201hp 1.8L turbo ($39,125 with destination).
