With the exeception of the 2011 Aston Martin V12 Zagato and the 2013 BMW M3 racing, the latest paid car pack released for Forza Motorsport 5 is concentrated on recognizable classics.
The other eight are all pretty special in their own right, but the Alfa Romeo GTV6 and 1966 Ford Lotus Cortina will surely appeal to the Europhiles, while ’67 Chevelle SS-396 and ’68 Dodge Dart HEMI Super Stock will be the pick of V8 lovers.
The latter is, in fact, very rare (only 50 made) and it features a massive 426 HEMI shoehorned in with the sole purpose of being drag-worthy straight from the factory.
Of all, though, one car stands out in particular as being arguably the prettiest of the lot, and probably the lightest too: the 1958 Aston Martin DBR1. It won Le Mans in 1959 with Carroll Shelby at the wheel and was also taken to victory four times at the Nurburgring 1,000 km race by Stirling Moss; the best thing about it is you can remove the three-liter straight six motor with 254 horsepower, and probably plonk in a V8 or V12 from one of the newer Astons…
