About a year ago, Rolls Royce boss Müller-Ötvös acknowledged that the company had given the green light for the development of a convertible version of their new Wraith Coupe, and now, we have the first spy pictures of the car that will most likely borrow the bigger Phantom’s Drophead Coupé nomenclature.
Though it looks like the tester is wearing a hardtop, from what we understand, the new Wraith Drophead Coupé will employ the use of a traditional cloth top, just like two of its main rivals, the existing Bentley Continental GT Convertible and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class Convertible that we spied just last week.
The convertible model loses the Wraith’s half-baked breadvan looks and features a more traditional coupe profile and tail.
It will continue to offer seating for four passengers, and unless Rolls Royce surprises us, it should maintain the coupe’s 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V12 pumping out 624hp (633 PS) towards the rear wheels.
Rolls Royce CEO previously hinted at a launch sometime in 2105.
