Where’s the progress in the automotive industry when a car goes from being excellent two generations ago, to being really good one generation prior to now sounding like it’s in Gran Turismo 6? We wonder if BMW intentionally wanted to make it sound as bad as it does in Sony’s driving game, because that’s what they seem to have achieved.
There really is no perceivable difference between this and any other force-fed six-cylinder by BMW.
The video posted below is the very first one that shows the all-new F80 M3 using its launch control system. It gets off the line impressively enough, but after that, the savage bark you’d expect from a full-blown M-car with a six-pot is not present.
Even if the new M3 and M4 handle brilliantly, are comfortable and very competent in every single way, they will be bashed heavily for sounding dull and synthesized when the reviews start pouring in. Scroll down, click play and tell us it’s not so.
