If you’re fed up with car reviewers putting a little too much emphasis on themselves, and too little on the actual cars they test, then this video with no talking will bring you joy.
It’s the McLaren P1 in full HD honed around the Spa Francocrhamps circuit, in Belgium, with absolutely nothing to disrupt you from listening to its engine or appreciating just how glued to the road it really is.
You also get to see the adjustable suspension at work, as well as some of the other servo-operated gadgets that are movable on the car.
The P1 is a joy to watch taking corners, but when it comes to the grandeur of the exhaust note, it sounds like it’s behind its two main rivals from Ferrari and Porsche, both of which are a bit more raw. The P1 sounds like it already is in a computer game, kind of like the 4.4-liter V8 BMW engine that powers the current M5, M6 and the hot X5 and X6.
