In spite of previous rumors that have so far proven untrue and slightly incredible, there’s still talk of adding a second set of doors to the Scion FR-S (and we assume the other two differently badged models too). Rumor has it, that it will happen, sometime in 2016.

MotorTrend reports that the four-door FR-S would grow in total length by up to 20 inches or around 49 cm, as well as in height – 4 inches (~10 cm) added there too. These proportion alterations would have to be carried out in order to make carrying four people inside possible.

Even if they do make it, it probably won’t ever spacious inside; just think of how many other larger four-doors out there that turn out to be cramped inside…

Finally, in order to provide extra motivation to this heavier four-door, the same report suggests Toyota would think about using turbocharged power. Any force-fed Subaru boxer will fit the bill here, and there wouldn’t be anything to hold them back from using a unit larger than two-liter.

Ed. Note: The report on the new Scion FR-S Turbo Four Door sedan posted on MotorTrend on May 7, 2014, comes from the same Peter Lyons who has been writing about it since 2010, constantly pushing back the introduction date each time he rehashes the story on different sites… When we first read about it in 2010, he had said that the FT-86 Sedan would arrive in showrooms in 2013 – By John Halas
