Aside from it having had its Italian V12 espresso machine ripped out and replaced with an American V8 drip-style coffee maker, this 1989 Ferrari 412 turned pickup truck is something to nod approvingly at.

It’s a sacrilegious move if you ask some, but let’s face it; the 412 is not the most sought after or prized Ferrari out there, so if anybody ever wanted to fill its engine bay full of V8, it is among the prime candidates.

It was the star of an episode of Ultimate Wheels, a show that focuses on completely transforming various cars – this episode (the one posted in full after the virtual jump) just happened to feature a Ferrari.

The car now has a one-meter (three-foot) rear loading bay thanks to serious modifications operated on the C-pillar and trunk section. It looks seamless and well integrated, though, and even with the strange and unexpected noise coming from under the bonnet, it’s up there with the El Camino Merc on the coolness scale.

Yay or nay?
