In a time and age when not even exotic supercars last for very long without being completely renewed or heavily revised, Fiat is sure taking a gamble with its mainstream Grande Punto that has been on sale since 2005 and won’t be replaced by a new model until 2016 in Europe (possibly with a different name) and Latin America.

Today, we were tipped off by the folks over at IndianAutosBlog of a “leaked” photo of the Fiat Grande Punto facelift that “will not be reserved to the Indian market, but will in fact be a global facelift program”.

That’s not entirely true, though, as while this picture does indeed depict a refreshed Grande Punto, it wasn’t leaked but presented in the folder provided by Fiat during yesterday’s presentation, and it doesn’t appear to be a global model, but the Indian market facelifted Grande Punto. At least that’s what Fiat’s documents state, as you can see for yourself below where it is listed only under the APAC region for India.

The cosmetic touch up includes a revamped face with a more prominent grille and bigger lights.

The other car seen in the picture is the Grande Punto facelift-based Aventurra crossover that was presented as a thinly disguised concept at the New Delhi Expo earlier this year.
