Aside from the possibility that it could feature the same facial treatment as the flagship P1, we really don’t know all that much about the way the upcoming baby McLaren will look like. The brand’s next model launched after the P1 was the 650S, and it was not what you’d call original.
X-Tomi has an idea for the look of the P13; it’s quite differently proportioned to the current offerings, but it’s not a bad shape to look at. The way its flanks are shaped, it almost looks Italian, a kind-of mid-engined Alfa Romeo 8C with a British nose and squinting eyes…
The mules we’ve seen thus far don’t necessarily hint at the way the production car will actually look. Hopefully, McLaren will remember it can do original models and not make the P13 a 75 percent carbon copy of the 650S, with the same engine in detuned form – that would give the car absolutely zero identity of its own.
