There’s no denying it. Alfa Romeo’s glory days are well in the past, though it’s not clear when the sporty-flavored Italian manufacturer was most prominent – it made cars you’d like to buy and own as an enthusiast well into the 1970s and 1980s, though some would argue the Alfa-wave reached its peak and then broke much earlier in its history, when cars were far curvier and sexier than they are now.
This 6C 2500 Freccia D’Oro (literally Golden Arrow) from 1947 would go some ways to prove that point, even in the sorry state this eBay find presents itself.
However, even if it looks like someone has meticulously scrubbed it with sandpaper, the Surrey, UK-based seller says it’s a “complete original car. Very solid, some sections of body already repaired but will need finishing. No rust or corrosion at all.”
The current bid is up to $54,100, with just over one day left before the auction page closes.
