Have you ever seen a more impressive spectacle involving an unusual car going sideways on a loose surface, with grace and poise? If you have, then the video posted below should still be among your favorites.
It features a 1950s Ford Custom Deluxe Coupe (with a chopped top?) being threaded around a fairly narrow dirt course in Finland, spending most of its time sideways. The driver seems really competent behind the wheel and he was reportedly the quickest on the day the video was shot.
Apparently, this is the same course that James May tried Finnish banger racing on, in a previous season of Top Gear.
But don’t let that detract from the enjoyment of watching the video, so scroll down and click play; if you thought American cars (particularly from the 50s, 60s and 70s) are slow and cumbersome, then you will be in for a treat.
