Players of the Forza 5 racing game have finally been treated to some free downloadable content recently, the ultra-detailed, laser-scanned Nurburgring track. Its absence was notable, given its huge popularity and notoriety, so we scoured YouTube for a few gameplay videos to see what it’s actually like in-game.

First thing that’s immediately noticeable are the exaggerated lights that look really artistic and will probably make for some rather nice screenshots and / or replays. You also do notice the 26,000 digital trees that have been placed along the track, to really give the sense of it being a large racetrack that’s located in a forest.

Most players who have driven the track so far, and uploaded their exploits in video form, have done so at the wheel of the pretty wild (and also newly introduced) 1967 Brabham BT24 F1 car. It’s part of the five-strong Nürburgring booster pack; it however is not free to download.

First video posted below is a visual comparison of the track in Forza 4 and 5.
