If you are a nostalgic for Soviet-era cars, then this 1989 ZIL-41052 presidential limousine should make your heart beat faster. One of only 13 made, this particular armored car was used by the President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev and subsequently by the President of the Russian Federation, Boris Yeltsin, after the collapse of the U.S.S.R.
The car was operated by the governmental garage (GON) from 1989 to 2007 and is said to be in an excellent condition. Located in Moscow, Russia, the ZIL-41052 has a mileage of 29,403 km (18,270 miles) and is advertised on James Edition for €1,250,000 ($1,693,000).
This massive limo is 6,339mm (249.5in) long, 2,088mm (82.2in) wide and 1,540mm (60.6in) tall and weighs a staggering 5,500 kg (12,125 lbs).
The difficult task of moving it around is assumed by a 7.7-liter V8 engine producing 315 horsepower at 4,600 rpm. Mated to a three-speed automatic gearbox sending power to the rear wheels, the carbureted V8 can propel the limousine to a top speed of 190 km/h (118 mph).
The limousine has an armor protection level of 12v and features a grey plush upholstery for the passengers in the back and black leather upholstery for those in the front. It certainly looks like the perfect car for the collection of Ukraine’s ousted president Victor Yanukovich.
