The Mercedes SLS AMG is not really a sports car, though it can handle and put its power down pretty well. However, those who have driven it more extensively say it’s better suited for a cruiser role, rather than that of a B-road burner, even with the improvements Mercedes made to it after its market debut.

That’s where the AMG GT comes in, promising extra agility through less weight, as well as a lower acquisition price. What it offers extra is more modern next-gen style, as seen on the new S-Class, C-Class and V-Class; the rear lights will probably be very similar to those of the S-Class Coupe, judging by these early shots of the AMG GT with camo on.

Last time TouriClips spotted the AMG GT, it looked as if it was being taken out for a leisurely stroll, rather than a proper fast lap of the Nurburgring; the new video posted below comes to correct that and lets us hear the twin-turbo V8 much higher in the rev range.
