While it may be based on the Ford Escape / Kuga platform, the first thing everybody seems to say about the all-new Lincoln MKC, is that the designers and engineers tried to give its own identity and make it feel like a more luxurious crossover proposition.
Have they succeeded? Well, the first reviews of the MKC are just in and they all play pretty much the same record. They praise the model for being quiet and in with the times with its levels of tech, as well as its 2.3-liter engine that pulls really well and the steering isn’t vague – the latter is a typical Euro-Ford touch.
The interior is also rated as ‘not bad,’ featuring soft plastics, wood and plenty of comfort and convenience features you’d find in and among its rivals – there’s even an optionally heated back seat too.
However, none of the reviews really goes out and recommends the MKC, most choosing more restrained conclusions to end their videos. It does have appeal, but since it’s a product of the (still ongoing) Lincoln rebranding process, it doesn’t really seem to inspire a lot of confidence with reviewers.
