Audi has just (officially) announced pricing for four new models that will be added to its U.S. range of A3 compact cars later this summer, including the sporty S3 sedan, a diesel version of the A3 saloon and the A3 Convertible.
We’re guessing most of you will be interested in learning about the S3 first, so we’ll start with the hot saloon that carries an MSRP (excluding destination) of $41,100. The S3 has a 292hp 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four connected to a standard dual clutch S tronic transmission (Europe also gets a 6sp stick shift, but there’s no mention of it in the U.S. release) and quattro all-wheel drive.
Its closest adversary is the Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG, which is more powerful at 355hp, but also more expensive at $47,450 (plus D&H).
The other new A3 models are the soft-top Cabriolet that is offered with either a 168hp (170PS) 1.8T FWD or 217hp (220PS) 2.0T quattro powertrain, and the A3 TDI sedan priced from $32,600 (plus D&H) that sports a 148hp (150HP) 2.0-liter turbo diesel driving the front wheels through an S tronic transmission.
Detailed pricing follows below.
