Nissan has lifted the veils off its virtual Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo vehicle, designed for Sony’s popular driving franchise. While the 2+2 supercar has been created to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Gran Turismo video game, it also previews a future Nissan performance vehicle.
Nissan says the concept is “a vision of what a high performance Nissan could look like in the future,” and judging from the shape of the front and rear lights, that car may very well be the next-generation GT-R.
The Concept 2020 was created by a team of young designers at Nissan Design Europe, in London, England. Nissan says the advanced aerodynamic body impressed the engineering team based at Nissan Technical Centre in Atsugi, Japan who saw a lot of potential in the car and offered their input. However, no details were offered about the study’s virtual engine.
As for its design, let’s hope some styling cues from this concept will be used on the next-generation Nissan GT-R. In the meantime, you can drive the Concept 2020 in Gran Turismo 6 on Playstation starting from July, when the virtual supercar will become available to download.
