Well, If there’s one thing this BMW owner doesn’t lack, it’s imagination. What started out life as a humdrum BMW 316i Coupe E30 back in 1988, was painstakingly turned into a hodgepodge of body styles and components.
In particular, the owner somehow combined the targa top of the Baur edition with original front and rear fenders and bumpers from an E30 M3, into a pickup truck conversion!
But wait, there’s more: the anemic 102PS (101hp) 1.6-liter inline four was replaced with a 286PS (282hp) 4.0-liter V8 from an E34 540i paired to a short-shifting 5sp manual; the steering system was borrowed from an E36 M3, while the new brake system is said to have been sourced from an unidentified M5.
In addition, the two front seats came from an E36 M3, with the owner also upgrading the suspension, exhaust system, instrument panel gauges and the wheels that were replaced with 17-inch rims in 235/40 tires, among a raft of other improvements (?).
Located in Germany, the “BMW E30 M3 Baur V8 Pick Up” has purportedly clocked 159,000km (close to 99,000 miles) with the asking price on Mobile set at €14,000 (roughly US$19,000).
