When Mercedes-Benz launched the CLA, the Germans were quick to say that the compact sedan is the most aerodynamic series produced model on the market, with a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.23. However, a recent aerodynamics test made at an independent wind tunnel claims that the CLA’s drag coefficient is much lower – 0.30 to be exact.

According to Car&Driver, the Tesla Model S proved to be the most aerodynamic of the cars tested, with a Cd of 0.24, followed by the Toyota Prius (0.26), Chevrolet Volt (0.28), Mercedes-Benz CLA (0.30) and Nissan Leaf (0.32).

Provided the test was done by the book, the CLA’s result is downright disappointing. Either the figure released by the automaker was wrong, or the test was not rigorously made…
