Audi doesn’t look likely to make an RS8 model, because it would be hugely expensive and only appealing to a handful of people, just like the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG.
It would be monstrously powerful quick, since the S8 is already about as brisk as an R8 V8 in a straight line, probably drawing its power from the new twin-turbo V8, or even the twin-turbo W12 Bentley engine…
Reviewers would approach it with fear, knowing it will stick to Audi’s tradition of mounting the engine pretty far forward, thus affecting cornering characteristics – imagine this being even heavier (or nose-heavy, rather) than an S8.
It probably wouldn’t be the exact opposite of nimble, and probably have a harsher ride than the lesser powered model, so it probably wouldn’t really work – a BMW M7 seems more likely than this…
Nevertheless, at least RM Design created a very believable interpretation of what an RS8 would look like. Even if it’s not real, it’s currently the meanest Audi to sport the freshest version of the brand family face.
