It’s almost time for Smart to show its all-new 2015 ForTwo and ForFour models, but just before the big reveal in Berlin, Germany, on Wednesday night, July 16, the Daimler-owned brand released the first official drawings of the production ForTwo.
Just like its four-door brethren, the new generation ForTwo incorporates the playful and energetic styling elements previewed on last year’s Fourjoy concept car.
Whereas the exterior sketches, which first appeared on the Mercedes Passion blog, are a tad exaggerated, especially in regards to wheel size, the interior drawing looks to be spot on with the production car.
The Smarts will be manufactured at the brand’s Hambach factory in western France in cooperation with Renault. Both the three-door ForTwo and the five-door ForFour share their underpinnings and rear-drive and -engine layout with the new Renault Twingo.
Power for the Smarts is expected to be provided by an all-new 1.0-liter 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated gasoline engine delivering 69hp (70PS) and a 0.9-liter 3-cylinder turbo gasoline rated for 89hp (90 PS).
