We wouldn’t call it “a wolf in sheep’s clothing”, as German aftermarket firm Fostla claims in its press blurb, but their new X5 M tune comes close.
The visible parts of Fostla’s package for the (previous) E70 generation X5 M include an anodized matte-red foil wrap for the body, BMW‘s own 21-inch High-Performance alloy wheels, a matte black double kidney grille and white and blue roundel badges, both inside and out.
What you can’t see is the engine tune, courtesy of PP-Performance and its Stage 2 upgrade that includes an Akrapovic exhaust system and which lifts the twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8’s output from 555PS (548hp) and 679Nm (501 lb-ft) to 650PS (641hp) and a massive 900Nm (664 lb-ft) of peak torque respectively.
Fostla says the X5 M tuning package costs €8,000 (approx. $10,700), though, it’s not entirely clear if the price includes BMW’s 375-style 21-inch wheels.
