One of the shortest and least detailed reviews we’ve seen from Auto Express appears to be somewhat similar from some points of view with the all-new Lexus NX 200t – the model that is actually being reviewed in the video below.

Just like the test, the car appears to intrigue you with its fresh look and plenty of gimmicks inside, but when you draw the line, it comes a little bit short on its promises.

Not to say that the UK magazine is bad at testing cars, but a two minute review whose focal point was the fact that the Lexus NX comes with a mobile vanity mirror is not exactly a good example of their best work…

Getting back to the car, despite the fact that it looks like it has come from the future and wants to kill John Connor, the new Lexus NX – at least in 200t guise – doesn’t seem to offer you much more than a… let’s say different style for both its exterior and its interior.

Sure, it also sports Lexus’ first ever turbocharged engine – a two-liter four-banger with 235 bhp and 258 lb ft of torque – but according to most recent reviews, including this one, not all of those numbers are actually felt when you push the go-fast pedal.

Nevertheless, in a sea of BMW X3s, Audi Q5s and Mercedes-Benz GLKs, the Lexus NX does bring some much needed freshening in design, so at least it has that going for it. Not to mention that it comes a little bit better equipped in standard than the aforementioned compact crossover/SUVs.
