The 591hp (600PS) Nissan GT-R Nismo is the fastest, most powerful production GT-R ever made. With a starting price of £125,000 in the UK ($149,900 in the U.S.), it is also the most expensive.

Autocar’s Steve Sutcliffe wanted to see how the GT-R Nismo is like to drive on the road and on the track, given that one of the most important attributes of the standard GT-R is that is perfectly usable as an everyday car.

So how is the GT-R Nismo in this respect? Well, Sutcliffe says the car has a very firm ride, a bit too stiff to use on the road as an everyday car. While he wouldn’t recommend it as an everyday car, when it comes to assessing its handling, he says it is incredibly accurate, with zero understeer on the road.

He then took the car to the Cadwell Park race track, where the Nissan GT-R Nismo really felt at home. Basically, Sutcliffe said he can’t imagine a car that would be faster round this circuit than the GT-R Nismo and that should say everything there is to know about the car.
