It seems that drivers of regular cars are still getting to grips with the instant nature of a Tesla Model S’ acceleration. The car you see planted into the Tesla sign in this photo is a brand new one that fell victim to its new owner’s excessive enthusiasm, not backed up by experience (or at least common sense).

The photo is taken just outside of the main production facility in Fremont, California.

We don’t know how exactly it happened, but we’d say the driver was lucky the obstacle he or she faced was a mere sign – it could have been a building or another car and the outcome could have been much worse (and more expensive for the party at fault).

Poking fun at people’s misfortune is usually not the right thing to do, but since nobody was physically hurt here and the car is easily repairable, it’s the only thing left to do, really.
