Witnesses, police officers and all the emergency crews that made it to the scene must have been horrified when they saw the accident caused by the driver of a stolen Tesla Model S. Apparently, the driver swiped the electric sedan from a Tesla maintenance building and had been fleeing from the cops.
On La Brea Avenue, in Los Angeles, he is believed to have hit a pole at over 100 mph (160 km/h), which made him crash into several other vehicles. The Tesla split in two, and the front half caught fire.
The driver of the Tesla was resuscitated in the ambulance and is now listed as being in critical condition.
“Everybody who was looking was screaming,” witness Francisco Estrada told NBC News “They tried to help but there was too much smoke.”
Another witness named Anne, said: “Debris was on fire, sparks were coming from debris.”
