The M-prepared BMW 850CSi is already a rare beast with only 1,510 cars made from 1992 to 1996, but Alpina’s version of the car named the B12 5.7 Coupe (not to be confused with the 850i-based Alpina B12 5.0) is even rarer with only 57 copies. A mere seven of those B12 5.7’s were right-hand drive and only two of those were fitted with a manual gearbox, the other five sporting the automated Shift-Tronic transmission.

Therefore, the RHD Alpina B12 5.7 Coupe Manual you see pictured here is one of two cars of its kind in the world, which makes it pretty special, don’t you think?

A car fit for a king – literally, since it was custom ordered by the Sultan of Brunei who is renowned for his vast car collection.

“It remained in his extensive collection for a number of years and was hardly ever driven, whilst always being carefully stored in his museum,” says the seller of the B12 5.7 in the listing over at Classicdriver.

The Sultan of Brunei didn’t really drive the 1993 B12 Coupe with its uprated 416bhp 5.7-liter V12 engine, as he sold it to UK Alpina dealer Sythers of Nottingham back in 2001 with less than 1,000 miles recorded. The same goes for the other two owners of the car, as the odometer currently reads just 6,500 miles or 10,461km.

For pricing, you’ll have to give the seller a call as it’s not included in the listing.
