After photos of a scorched pre-production prototype of the 2015 Acura/Honda NSX made headlines around the world the other day, maybe some of you would be interested to check out how the car looked and sounded before going super Saiyan and self-immolate.

Thankfully, the peeps from TouriClips were at the Nürburgring Nordschleife when the prototype was making rounds of the Green Hell and managed to capture it on film in HD – although there is no incineration video, mind you.

As you can see, the car looks mighty composed on the ‘Ring, but we can’t help but notice the almost complete lack of a sporty exhaust sound, or at least one that would match the caliber of a hardcore sports car.
On a personal note, I think it sounds not unlike your average turbocharged four-cylinder engine car, with the Golf GTI coming to mind as the closest in terms of exhaust sound – not bad, but could have been a lot better.

Current info suggests that the 2015 NSX will feature a twin-turbo V6 paired with three electric motors, a dual clutch transmission and Acura’s Super Handling All Wheel Drive System (SH-AWD).

PS: stay tuned to catch a brief flash of light under the car at around the 0:15 minute mark, or is it just me (view it in full HD)?

Correction: An earlier version of this story said the V6 unit is naturally aspirated. Last November, Honda showed a mock-up of the new NSX’s hybrid powertrain with a twin-turbo setup.
