In case you didn’t notice, that’s the new Cadillac CTS-V chasing the 2016 Mustang GT500 or SVT or GT350 (we wish someone at Ford could at least confirm the name) in the video print screen above. Too bad we only get a few seconds from that encounter at the ‘Ring. On the bright side, our spies bagged the aural signature coming out of the four pipes of the high-performance ‘Stang.
At a first glance, it sounds raspier and racier than the last GT500 with its 662-horsepower supercharged 5.8-liter “Trinity” V8, but being a prototype, engineers are probably still refining and tuning both the engine itself and the exhaust.
And yes, this is the same Mustang prototype that our spies photographed running around the Nordschleife the other day.
