When it comes to rugged off-roaders, few vehicles can rival the Willys Jeep and the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. The former is the most iconic war vehicle ever made, while the latter is renowned for its reliability of off-road capabilities.
The latest episode of Motor Trend’s Generation Gap features a comparison between the two rugged vehicles, more specifically between a 1952 Willys M38 Jeep and a 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40.
The Jeep served in the Korean War as well as in the Michigan National Guard, while the civilian FJ is one of the most sought-after classic off-roaders.
Although the age difference between the two vehicles is more than 20 years, the show’s two presenters argue with passion in favor of their chosen 4×4.
Obviously, both are very tough machines (the FJ40 was marketed as the Toyota Macho in Venezuela), but in the end the choice will be subjective.
Head down to find out more about these two iconic vehicles.
