General Motors confirmed on Thursday that the 2016 Chevy Volt will be shown off in January at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show.

The company didn’t release many more details about the next-generation Volt, other than a little teaser photo that implies the rear hatch of the car won’t differ too much from the current version.

Based on the spyshots seen earlier this year, the look will be a refinement of the current shape. What is expected to change is underneath, and two levels of battery strength are rumored, for different costs.

Expect more details to trickle out heading into January.
