We didn’t make the eBay deadline, but how often do you see a mint, low-mileage 1986 Renault 25 GTX offered for sale in the States?
Our thoughts exactly, which is why we’re sharing these photos from the eBay listing that ended last night without a winning bid, as the highest offer at $8,999 didn’t meet the seller’s reserve.
The 25, a predecessor of the Safrane, itself replaced by the Vel Satis, was Renault’s executive car from 1983–1992, designed to compete with the Audi 100, BMW 5-Series, Peugeot 605 and Saab 9000, just to mention a few.
One of its most prominent features was the notchback styling, penned by Gaston Juchet and overseen by designer Robert Opron of Citroën SM fame.
Any Renault 25 is a rare sight in the US, but one with only 7,000 miles (a little over 11,200 km) on the odometer is unique. This one has Dutch plates on, but according to the seller, it has a clean Florida title and registration.
Shout out to Lionel for the heads up!
