We, humans, are a social animal, meaning that we do a whole lot more and a whole lot better when in or with the company of others.
A large crowd of commuters proved the power of the people when a man accidentally wedged his leg between the platform and a train at a station in Perth, Australia, on Wednesday morning.
The passengers all chipped in and managed to tilt the train freeing the trapped man.
“He stood in the doorway and as he was sort of taking up his position there, one leg slipped outside the door, slipped outside the gap, and he was stuck,” Transperth spokesman David Hynes told local news station ABC.
“We alerted the driver, made sure the train didn’t move,” he said. “Then our staff who were there at the time got the passengers, and there were lots of them, off the train, and organised them to sort of rock, tilt the train backwards away from the platform so they were able to get him out and rescue him.”
