Here’s a better and fresher look at BMW’s new M4 Convertible, with this particular example personalized through the Bavarian firm’s Individual program.

The Individual treatment consist of a Moonstone metallic paint for the body, which looks like a liquid silver in these photos, gloss black 19-inch wheels, fine-grain Amaro Brown leather for the seats, doors and dash combined with black leather for the dashboard and the door panels, plus trim finishers in piano black.

BMW also shared a few shots of the M4 Convertible’s predecessors, from the M3 E30, E36 and E46 generations.

The coupe version of the M4 and the M3 before that were always the cars of choice for purists, but if you can live with the added weight (some 250kg or 550+ lbs) and the reduced structural rigidity, all for the sake of driving with the top down, then the M4 Convertible could be worth a look.

It has the same turbocharged 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder engine as the new M3 sedan and M4 coupe, kicking out 425hp (431PS) from 5,500rpm to 7,300rpm, and 550Nm (406 lb-ft) between 1,850rpm and 5,500rpm.

You can get it with either a six-speed manual (0-60mph in 4.4 sec or 0-100km/h in 4.6 sec) or a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (4.2sec to 60mph or 4.4 sec to 100km/h).

U.S. pricing with handling and delivery is set at $73,425 for the base model – add anything from $5,000 to $10,000 for the Individual goods.
