This has to be what heaven looks like to a gearhead: a Ferrari F40 supercar, a winding road in the Swiss Alps and a sunny day.
For EVO’s Henry Catchpole, this was another day at the office that he wanted to share with the world, so he fitted a dashboard camera inside the cockpit and recorded the experience.
As we are talking about a supercar that debuted in 1987, it goes without saying that, the driving experience is rather different from what modern supercars feel like. That’s because everything on the F40 is unassisted, requiring more force and commitment to drive it fast.
Add to that the awkward driving position and the fact that the engine suddenly becomes a beast after 4,000 rpm and you have a bit of an idea what the F40 is like to drive. It takes a while to adjust to it, but after that, it becomes incredible to drive.
