Rumors that the Ferrari 458 Italia will adopt turbocharging for its first facelift are not new, but new details have emerged.

Said to be called the M458-T, the refreshed 458 Italia is expected to debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show as Ferrari’s second turbocharged model in the current lineup after the California T.

Developed under the codename 142M, the Ferrari M458-T will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 producing around 670 hp – which means it will be 100 hp more powerful than the current model’s naturally-aspirated 4.5-liter V8. The new engine will be an uprated version of the unit found in the California T, in which it produces 552 hp.

Design changes compared to the current 458 Italia are said to include the addition of bigger air intakes and more prominent lateral scoops in order to ensure the necessary airflow for the turbos, intercoolers and brakes. Expect restyled bumpers and LED lights and improved aerodynamics aimed at improving downforce in corners.

The cabin of the M458-T will also be refreshed, with additions including the same Harman-Kardon infotainment system from the California T as well as a reversing camera. Just like in the California T, the M458-T’s infotainment system will also feature Apple’s CarPlay.
