Modern Lambos aren’t the most tail-happy supercars you can buy. Both the Gallardo and Aventador are known to have some understeer tendencies, though nothing like what Autocar’s Steve Sutcliffe discovered the new Huracan is capable of.
The Gallardo replacement ticks every single box on the desirable supercar checklist, but one – the handling and fun factor.
Sutcliffe immediately points out that the Huracan is set up to be really safe and not challenging to control at all – in spite of its 600+ hp, hunkered down stance, part-carbon tub and the ability to disengage the electronic nannies, it always pushes wide; you can really see it in the video…
Pity then, that they seem to have nerfed the handling, or sent the UK publication a dud (as unlikely as that may be), because this car ought to have driven well since it really had all the ingredients there…
To make matters worse, it’s deemed far less willing to get its back out than the Audi R8 with which it shares many components.
It could just be a matter of the car having been set up wrong for the day, but we’ll need to see more reviews to confirm or deny it. This review already makes the prospect of a rear-wheel driven Huracan much more enticing.
