The very first Mazda model to feature the company’s full Skyactiv Technology suite, the CX-5 crossover, is getting ready for a mild facelift.

The tester we snagged in Germany was lightly camouflaged up front and at the back, suggesting changes to the grille and bumper, along with revised head- and tail-lamp clusters. It also featured a new door mirror design with integrated turn signals.

Our spies didn’t have the chance to get up close to the car, so we don’t know for sure what Mazda has in store for the interior, but expect some light styling updates and technology upgrades such as the infotainment system.

Minor revisions may be made to the crossover’s current gasoline and diesel powertrain lineup for reduced emissions and fuel consumption.

The well received CX-5 was introduced in 2012 and is available in both front and all-wheel drive layouts.
