The Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG, the stepping stone between the regular range and the full-blown AMGs, is a car we’re keeping an eye out for.
It’s going to get its power from a twin-turbo V6, and if it’s the same one we heard in the MLC prototype testing around the Ring, then we at least know it’s going to sound really good.
Now, we learn from AutoNews that not only is it going to be revealed next year, in January, at the Detroit motor show, but it will be the first of many stepping stone models in the Mercedes range. The same treatment will reportedly be applied to the CLA, the next E-Class and the next GLK within the coming years.
The manufacturer had better get a move on, because it’s currently lagging behind its German rivals which have been offering such models for some time now… Even Cadillac caught on and has created its line of Vsport models to compete.
