Given the Autobahn’s reputation for speed, crashes can be particularly gruesome. So it’s amazing when someone lives to tell their story of surviving one of them.
Jessi Lang is a host for Motor Trend video, who last year was driving an ABT Audi R8 on a stretch of Autobahn. Lang says a car abruptly pulled out in front of her and it was like a “brick wall” that she was going to hit.
An Abt employee was in the passenger’s seat when she hit the back of the car, causing it to flip. The R8 Lang was in did not, but the car was totally destroyed.
And Lang had sustained numerous injuries, the impact so severe bones in her leg broke through the skin. After seven months, two surgeries and numerous other procedures, she is on the road to recovery and driving again.
