BMW has built a one-off i8 model called Concours d’Elegance Edition for the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The car will be auctioned at Pebble Beach Auctions on Saturday, August 16, with proceeds to be donated to the Pebble Beach Company Foundation and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The i8 Concours d’Elegance Edition features a unique paint scheme in BMW Individual Frozen Grey Metallic exterior color, while the interior has a Dalbergia Brown leather upholstery – tanned using dye derived from plant extracts. The leather upholstery is accented with stitching in BMW i Blue, with other trim accents in BMW i Blue including the seat belts. Another unique feature is the “BMW i8” writing embossed into the front headrests.
The special edition model features a raft of standard equipment including laser headlights, a BMW i8 Display key as well as the first BMW Charging Station, professional edition. Other unique enhancements include the words “Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Edition” laser etched into the doorsills, plus a plaque on the rear parcel shelf containing the signatures of senior BMW executives who played key roles in the development of the i8.
The sale, which will be organized by auction house Gooding & Company, will also include a complete set of the Louis Vuitton carbon fiber luggage, tailored exclusively for the BMW i8.
