With less than a month to go before the official reveal of the all-new Mazda MX-5, more details are being revealed that are creating an ever-more concrete picture of what it will be like.
This time, styling comes into question, and we learn that the MX-5 will feature the next step of Kodo design, an evolution of what’s been seen in Mazda’s current range of cars.
The information comes via TheMotorReport, after a talk with Martin Benders, Mazda’s Aussie boss. Benders said the MX-5 will move away from the current family face and it will, in fact, revert to the previous style of grille – the much disputed oval, which was not to everybody’s taste.
This makes us even more curious as to the MX-5’s aesthetics, since before we were pretty sure it was going to feature the same look as the current generation of cars. However, it actually seems to preview the next one, which is quite cool if proven true.
It’s possible then that our rendering (the photo posted below) may not actually be accurate, but we won’t know until D-Day.
