Opel has introduced a new diesel engine on the Zafira Tourer MPV, the 1.6-liter CDTI ecoFLEX delivering 118 hp (120 PS). The new entry-level unit joins the 134hp (136PS) diesel which debuted last year in the compact van.
Fitted as standard with Start/Stop, a braking energy recuperation system and a low-friction six-speed manual transmission, the Opel Zafira Tourer 1.6 CDTI ecoFLEX averages 4.5 l/100 km (52.2 mpg US) and emits 119 g/km of CO2.
Just like the more powerful 1.6-liter version, the new engine complies with the Euro 6 emission standard.
Besides the two 1.6-liter diesels, the Zafira Tourer is also available with a 2.0-liter diesel, available in four states of tune: 108hp (110PS), 128hp (130PS), 163hp (165PS) and 192hp (195 PS).
Gasoline engines range between 113hp (115PS) and 197hp (200PS). The MPV is also available with a 138hp (140PS) 1.4-liter LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) ecoFLEX model or a 148hp (150PS) 1.6-liter CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) engine.
In Germany, prices for the new base version of the Opel Zafira Tourer diesel start from €26,850 ($35,951), including VAT.
