While PC users are perfectly comfortable talking about all manner of games they can play, their confident discourse quickly turns to hushed mumbles when you ask them if there are any games like Forza or Gran Turismo available for the platform.
Electronic Arts tried to do something about that with its Shift series, but those games were plagued by severe control issues, particularly for those who didn’t own a force feedback wheel.
I found them nearly unplayable, and I did try to like them, having started to play with a positive attitude…Now, a new title is being pushed forth as the first real PC rival for the established console titles: Project CARS.
Yes, of course it has dynamic weather implemented (see the first of the three videos posted below and most of the pretty screenshots featuring eye-candy puddles), like all the other new games now have, but it also promises a more realistic driving experience altogether.
It’s a welcome change on the scene, since most commercial titles always seemed to have a tendency to migrate towards the arcade side of the racing genre.
We’re being promised fully detailed car models, with fully modeled interiors and accurate driving physics, all wrapped in a package whose visual merits we’ve already discussed.
If you find this game appealing, then do also check out the newly released list of tracks it’s getting.
