The Renovo Coupe is cool for any number of reasons, but primarily for the way it looks and the fact that it’s fully electric and completely modern and up to date.
It may look like a Shelby Daytona coupe from the sixties, but it actually rides on a modern (Shelby American) chassis and the bodywork is actually all new, redesigned by Peter Brock, the man who also penned the original.
This means the Tesla Model S’ title of the coolest Silicon Valley EV is severely under threat – it simply can’t compete in terms of looks and panache. Where it can compete, though, is in the range department, where even the basic Model S does notably better than the 100 miles the manufacturer claims the coupe can do.
XCAR caught up with the car and one of its (unnamed?) proponents and creators at Pebble Beach. It’s our first look at the car outside of the official trailer and photos.
