BMW is readying a face- and tail-update to its 6-Series range of models, with our spies nabbing a Convertible prototype out in the open.

The facelift, or as BMW likes to name its mid-cycle revisions, LCI, seems to be on the very light side, as on the exterior, it’s limited to the headlamp fixtures, the lower part of the front bumper, the fender trims and possibly the tail lamp graphics.

The production car will also get a new range of wheels and fresh colors.

Some tweaks may be made to the engines, mainly to improve efficiency, while interior revisions will be in line with what we saw on the 5-Series facelift last year and which focused on the technology aspect with some minor updates to the dashboard.

If not at one of the upcoming international shows this year (Paris, Los Angeles), then we should see the 6-Series LCI in early 2015.
