A refresh is in order for BMW’s pug-faced 1-Series hatchback with our spies snagging a three-door model testing in Europe.
This isn’t the first time we’ve crossed paths with the 2016MY (or 2015) 1-Series hatchback, but the one pictured here is a more developed prototype that also features changes to the rear with new tail lamp graphics and a redesigned bumper.
At the front end of the car, which has been the focus of most styling-related criticisms, there will be revised headlamp clusters together with new double kidney grilles and bumper.
On the inside, expect to see some light cosmetic tweaks along with the latest version of BMW‘s iDrive infotainment system.
The engine range will likely be retained with improvements in regards to efficiency and emissions, topped by the 3.0-liter turbocharged six in the M135i.
We should see the facelifted 1-Series in BMW showrooms next year.
