The last time we laid eyes on a Mercedes S-Class Cabrio tester, it was wearing more plastic armor than the Dark Knight; not any more.
Stuttgart has removed all those plastic moldings dressing the S-Class Cabriolet in a more telling foil wrap that gives us a clearer look at its proportions and styling, which evidently, replicates that of the new S-Class Coupe sans the roof, where it sports a traditional fabric top.
It will also retain the Coupe’s four-seat layout, interior design and engine range including a bi-turbocharged V8 with 449hp (455PS) and a twin-turbo V12 with 523hp (530PS). More potent (and pricier) AMG editions with the same number of cylinders could top off the range, but it’s not official yet.
The rag top model should get some nifty features of its own over the coupe – think something in the lines of an advanced Airscarf system that blows warm air to your neck and shoulders, and other things you probably never knew you wanted or needed.
